Art Village

Welcome to the Art Village

Welcome to the official website of Art Village, Nagaon, a unique cultural and artistic space dedicated to preserving and promoting

the rich art heritage of Assam and beyond.

Founded by the renowned artist Sujit Das, Art Village stands as a testament to the timeless traditions of Assamese manuscript painting, folk art and Sattriya culture, bringing them to the global stage.

About Us

Art Village was conceptualized and created with a passion to preserve the invaluable art forms of Assam and the greater Indian subcontinent. Despite starting with limited resources, Sujit Das, a visionary artist, poured his savings, secured a bank loan and in 2021 amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, successfully launched the art village.

Today, it stands as the largest privately held art gallery and museum in Assam, showcasing a collection of diverse and rare art forms, including manuscripts, sculptures, puppets and masks from different parts of the world.
